The Carlyle Group, commonly known as Carlyle, is a global private equity and alternative asset management firm with deep industry expertise that deploys private capital across three business segments: Global Private Equity, Global Credit and Global Investment Solutions. Founded in 1987, it has grown to become one of the world's largest and most prominent private equity firms. Carlyle is headquartered in Washington, D.C. but it operates globally, including in Europe where it boasts a dedicated technology investment team (Carlyle Europe Technology Partners) who are currently investing from a €3.2bn fund focused on growth equity and buy-outs of technology SMEs.
