Lieven Desmet

Professor at University of Leuven

Lieven Desmet is a professor on Security and Privacy for Industrial Applications within the DistriNet Research Group at KU Leuven (Belgium). Lieven manages a research team on web and infrastructure security within DistriNet, co-leads the system and infrastructure track in the Cybersecurity Research Program Flanders, and actively participates in various dissemination, valorization and spin-off activities.

Among his various commitments, he serves as a board member for the Belgium OWASP Chapter within the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP). Additionally, he is co-chair for the Focus Group on Application Security within the Cyber Security Coalition, and contributes to the Secure Application Development course SecAppDev.
