Digital Sovereignty Solutions Lead at Google Cloud

Julien Blanchez is Digital Sovereignty Solutions Lead at Google Cloud. He helps coordinate the different initiatives contributing to Google Cloud’s digital sovereignty strategy in Europe and around the world. He is tasked with unifying the different product offers into a consistent and comprehensive sovereignty capability meeting the requirements of local markets. 
He joined Google initially in 2008, after past functions with SAP in global corporate strategy in Germany, with BARCO in Singapore and The Boston Consulting Group in Brussels. More recently, he has worked for SWIFT, the Belgian based global inter-bank payment operator, as Head of Data and Analytics, for a couple of years before returning to Google. 
Much of his time with Google, he was Global Security & Compliance Strategist, based in Mountain View, California working with security and privacy engineering teams and engaging with large and highly regulated organisations and their regulators, on data protection questions. Between 2017 and 2020 he was an advisory member of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), contributing with other European experts on the development of the agency’s programme.
