Johannes Triebs

Johannes is a partner at Earlybird-X, the (pre-)seed fund of Earlybird Venture Capital. Earlybird‑X backs deep tech innovation, including AI, novel computing, industry tech & climate tech, at the earliest stages – tapping into a network of leading European universities. Johannes is particularly excited about extraordinary teams with breakthrough technology solutions and can support them with his strong academic and industry network. 

Before joining Earlybird-X he founded 5P Capital, a micro VC around Aachen University, and was active in various mgmt. positions of university spin offs helping them to grow from 0 up to 10 Mio € in sales annually. He was also Managing Director and Chief Engineer in various positions in the fields of R&D, prototyping, industrialization, testing, production and consulting for automotive, mobility and machinery engineering products and processes (production.net AC, PEM Motion, Velocity, PEM, WZL & Ramp up Factory Aachen University). He studied mechanical engineering in Aachen, Berkeley and Zurich and holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Aachen University.
