Francesca Vanthielen is a Belgian journalist and news anchor, working for the Business TV channel Kanaal Z. She obtained a master in Applied Economic Science and a master in International Politics at the Catholic University of Leuven. In 1999 she acquired her postgraduate degree in Acting at the Mountview Theatre School in London. Francesca hosted several popular TV programs on Belgian national television and became famous for her acting in two films and several television series. For four years she was an active ambassador for UNHCR. Francesca was also a freelance writer for the newspapers De Morgen and De Tijd. In 2011 she was involved in G1000, a citizen initiative to support democratic innovation through citizen participation. Francesca is currently active in the public climate debate.
