Turning challenges into opportunities on a solo flight

Friday 22 March 11:30 - 12:05 Main stage

Zara Rutherford shares how she overcame personal challenges on her solo travel.

In 2022, Zara Rutherford became the youngest woman to fly solo around the world. At 19, she set off from her home in Belgium to head West, traversing 5 continents and overflying 52 countries. Her journey took her to some of the most remote parts of our planet. From the Greenland icecap to Saudi Arabia’s desert, she was faced with unique challenges everywhere. How does she avoid super typhoon Rai in the Philippines? Can she overfly North Korea? How will she protect her engine from extreme cold? The questions she struggled with were demanding, but she could never have anticipated how difficult her personal challenges would be.

Join this talk if you want to learn how you can turn challenges into opportunities and what type of mindset can help you with that.
